Scott Gray, Co-founder, President and CEO, is an educational innovator and the lead designer of Useractive's proprietary Learning Sandbox and TraQ technologies. Scott has over 12 years experience as an educational technologist in the field of distance and computer-based learning, including creation of the Ohio State Calculus&Mathematica Distance Education initiative and development of teacher training courses in Math Teacher Link at the University of Illinois. Scott has been an instructor for both the University of Illinois and Ohio State University since 1988, and has spoken at numerous national and international educational conferences. Scott is responsible for the ongoing development of the UserActive learning technologies and IT training courses. He received BS in Mathematics and BS in Physics from Ohio State University, and interrupted his Mathematics Ph.D. work to devote his attentions on UserActive.
Patricia Mills Gray, Co-Founder and Vice President of Software, oversees the programming of all front-end software required for the registration and billing of Useractive students. Tricia is also responsible for the implementation of Useractive's unique training methods. She has over 8 years experience in distance education, online and computer-based learning. She oversaw the innovative Calculus&Mathematica Distance Education Program, and helped to create the Netmath coalition among Big-10 schools. Since 1994, Trish has been involved in a variety of online training initiatives, specializing in designing and managing Web based learning environments. In February 2002, I-Street magazine honored Ms. Gray in their annual "Women in Black" issue, and in January 2002 she was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Small Business Association of Illinois. She holds a BS with Honors in Computer Science from the University of Illinois College of Engineering.
Trent Johnson, Co-Founder and Vice President of Systems, administrates the network and designs the hardware infrastructure of Useractive. His primary responsibility is to maintain a secure environment where Useractive students can program and experiment freely. Trent has extensive technical expertise with Unix-based operating systems and a variety of programming languages. In addition, Trent created the Nomad Linux distribution in order to work in an environment that utilized Encap package management. Trent holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Kerry Parmelee, Director of Course
Facilitation, has been lead Instructor at Useractive since 1999
and has gained extensive
experience coaching hundreds of students online in Information Technology.
Her responsibilities
include coaching students as well as ensuring quality control for
Useractive's course content and learning infrastructure. She has been
involved in both teaching and programming as a teaching assistant and
undergrad research for the chemistry department at the university of
Illinois. Kerry hold a BS in Chemistry from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
